19 Weeks

Good Morning. I hope you all had a great weekend. Mine was uneventful, however the baby was pretty active this weekend. The feeling makes me laugh and wonder what's going on in there. Somersaults? Cartwheels? I wish Jason could feel it, but you can't from the surface yet. I told him, maybe in a month or so. He's such the proud papa! We went over to Babies R Us on Saturday and did some looking around. We needed a color scheme for the babies room and maybe a theme. Jason's not into the jungle theme at all, but maybe a cowboy or farm theme. And I think were gonna go with the chocolate/mocoa color scheme. Then we looked around at the whole store. Holy cow, there is a lot in there! So much to look at and it's very overwhelming. Then we went to one of my favorite areas... Clothes for the baby. Jason and I had to buy our son his first outfit. It's so cute and was a joint effort by both of us. Jason picked out these adorable overalls and I picked out a shirt to go with it. We make such a great team. :)

This week is pretty quiet for appointments except on Thursday, I'll have a check up with my OB. I'll let you know if there is any news from that, but it's gonna be pretty routine.

Love to all!

IT'S GONNA BE A BOY!

We just found out on Wednesday that our little one is going to be a baby BOY! Oh my gosh I can't believe it! We are SO happy and overjoyed!!! My amnio went okay and I'm feeling better then I was on Wednesday night. Jason was there with me and held my hand during the ultrasound before the amnio. Just hearing the words, "It's a boy" made me cry with joy! We finally know and are just so excited. I can't tell you with words how we feel. Now we can get started on the baby's room right after Christmas. He'll be here before we know it. Next on our appointment list is my regular appt with my OB on Thursday Dec 18th. Just a check up. About the results for the amnio, we will get those back on Christmas Eve. Anyways, we had to share the great news with everyone and put it in writing too with pictures.
Have a great weekend! Love to all!

18 Weeks 1 Day

Hi Y'all! I had my ultrasound test today where I had to drink 32oz of fluid and hold it for a really long time while the tech did the ultrasound and pressed against my bladder. Not a good thing to do when you have to go really really bad! But other then that information, everything looked great! The baby was moving around soooo much, the tech had a hard time measuring things. I have a very active baby, that's for sure! You could see the baby open it's mouth and suck it's thumb and kick and punch. I'm so in aww of the whole thing! Unfortunately Jason was not allowed in the room with me and we couldn't take any video of the event. I felt very bad for Jason sitting in the waiting room wondering whats going on and why can't I be in there with her. The tech took over 90 pictures and measurements. It was just so wonderful the see the little one moving around so much. At this point I'm feeling some little movements now and then. When I tell Jason about it, he gets this HUGE grin on his face. He's so excited. We had the tech look at the baby's parts and see if we could see if it was a girl or boy, but we really couldn't get a good picture and with all the movements couldn't really tell. Oh well. We'll have to wait 2 more weeks. I have my amnio appointment tomorrow and then we wait 2 weeks for the results including the sex. So I'm hoping by Christmas Eve we'll find out. That would be the best Christmas present! Until then, I've included some pictures from today's ultrasound. The first one is the baby actually looking at you and has it's mouth open, the second is the baby's profile. Such a cutie! Enjoy!

Love to all!

17 Weeks 3 Days

Greetings - I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving holiday! Ours was okay. We had dinner at Wendy's (Jason's moms) house on Thursday night and visited. Then my mom cooked her dinner on Friday night, so we had tons of leftovers. I'm over turkey now! Now is the time that Christmas is here in a flash and we find ourselves scrambling to finish shopping and wrapping. It's always that way around here.

Anyways, I'm doing just okay this week. I'm feeling somewhat tired and kind of not right either. I can't quite explain it. I don't know if I'm fighting off some aliment that everyone at work is carry around with them or something the baby is making me feel. But I'm coming home and being a big blob in my room or on the couch. Nothing my mom is making for dinner smells all that great either. Most strong food smells are gagging me now! I still don't have morning sickness or night sickness. I just can't handle strong food smells.

Jason and I had our Amnio Class yesterday morning and I have scheduled my Amnio for next Wednesday Dec 10th at 1:30p. Kind of nervous about it now. That makes two appointments next week. Remember I have an ultrasound after I have to drink 32 oz of water scheduled for Tuesday too. So I'm really hoping to find out the sex sometime next week! I can't wait!!

That's about it for this week. Kind of mellow and uneventful. I will have news for you on Tuesday next week after my appointment and let you know how that went.

Love to all!

16 Weeks (Thanksgiving Week)

It's Monday again and all is well. A short workweek is in store and then the holiday is upon us. This time of year seems to fly by. The next thing you know, it's New Year's day and already 2009! Jason and I are doing very well and looking forward to the holiday this week. I'm finally starting to show now and I should probably post a picture or two on here to show you. I'm feeling really well. Still feeling quite normal thus far. I haven't felt the baby move again since two weeks ago, but that should change shortly. The books say I should start to feel the baby regularly as soon as this week possibly later. So I'm looking forward to that event. I'm having to sleep on my sides only now, as I might cut off circulation to some major vein to the baby. That is getting old quickly! I usually sleep on my stomach or my back. I took care of my 24 hour pee test yesterday and dropped that off at the lab this morning. I'm sure I'm okay though. I think that is it for now. I hope everyone has a fantastic Thanksgiving with family and friends! I know we will. Happy Thanksgiving!
Love to all!

15 Weeks 2 Days

Good Morning - We just got back from the doctors this morning. The doctor did not do an ultrasound today, instead she just listened to the heartbeat. It's at 150 beats per minute which is good. She's very concerned about my blood pressure which was (and always is) high before I see the doctor. She checked it again before we left and it was where it should be. But she is still concerned and wants to keep a close eye on that. So with that said, I get the pleasure of doing a 24 hour pee test this Sunday. OH JOY! I have to pee into a container for 24 hrs and turn it in to the lab on Monday morning. They are checking my protein levels in my urine to make sure I don't have any kidney damage from my blood pressure. That's about it. Not an exciting visit except that we got to hear the heartbeat. I love that sound! Our next appointment will be on December 9th. I have to drink A LOT of water and hold it and they do an ultrasound in the X-Ray dept. I think the woman said this was so they could do some measuring of the baby. I said it's just to torture me because I don't know if I'll be able to hold 32 oz. for too long! We are in the process of making our amnio appointment now, so I'll have a date for that shortly. Then we'll have to wait 2 weeks for the results of that one. I do have the amnio class scheduled for Dec 3rd. That's it for now. Sorry I don't have any pictures to post this week. I should have something on the 9th for you. More to come shortly!

Love to all!

15 Weeks

Monday again! We had a really good weekend but I'm glad it's over. It wiped me out. We celebrated Jason's 34th birthday on Saturday and he had a great time. We started out the day with breakfast at JD's in Castro Valley first thing. I gave him his birthday card with his surprise. He'd be spending the day doing what he loves to do, golfing, with his dad and two friends, Chuck and Arlo. He was so excited he got to go golf! It was great. To end the day, it was off to the Dublin Sports Pub for dinner with family and friends. He had a great time there too. He's always surprised how many people show up for his birthday. He was so thrilled.
The rest of the weekend was spent relaxing and recovering from a busy day. So that brings me to today where I'm back at work. We have just two more days until the doctor appointment on Wednesday morning. I'm so excited! I didn't mention it until now, but I think I felt the baby moving on Thursday at work. It was the weirdest feeling in the world. And I haven't felt is since. I think I was sitting just right with my pants pressing just right on my belly. Pretty positive it wasn't gas either... LOL I can't wait to feel that again! My little one floating around in there. Ahhh!
Anyways, until Wednesday... Love to all!

14 Weeks

I am feeling pretty good today. I bought my first two pairs of maternity pants at Target today. They don't look too bad and they are mighty comfortable. I got a pair of jeans and a pair of black lounge pants, as I do a lot of lounging around the house after work. ;) I'm still not having any morning sickness and I'm gaining my energy back. My mom could tell, as I was on a roll yesterday doing house work. "Don't bother me now, I'm on a roll". It felt good to get things done around the house. I don't feel all that big right now, but my pants are starting to cut in around the middle and the button is always getting unbuttoned. As soon as I'm home from work, the jeans come off and the sweats go on. Ahhhh!

We had a good weekend. We went to the wine country with Linda and Juan on Saturday and picked up a case of wine we had ordered back in 2007. Linda and Juan wine tasted, I just smelled each glass and remembered what it was like. Mmmmm! We had great food at this outdoor restaurant. It was a very nice day to spend with friends.

Jason is doing well and we just can't wait until our next appointment next week. He'll be there with me video taping again. Not video taping me of course, but of the baby moving and kicking around. It's so exciting!

I just wanted to let you know how we are doing and what we are up to. Keep the comments coming. We love to read them. And keep voting if you haven't already. We love to see the poll results. It's very interesting to see what you all think. We are very blessed to have such great family and friends such as you!

Love to all!

13 Weeks

I had an interesting day yesterday. I went into a little panic and was overwhelmed by OMG! Is the baby still in there? I felt that I hadn't been gaining any weight and my belly still wasn't growing much, I didn't have any morning sickness, my breast tenderness is gone, what if the baby didn't make it?! So I called the doctors office yesterday and they got me in. There was no way I could wait another 2 1/2 weeks to see the doctor without knowing! They took my blood pressure and that was high at 169/80. Then the doctor came in, of course over a half hour late and I know my blood pressure is even higher as anxiety is now getting the best of me. We discussed my worries and said everything I have described is NORMAL. Well I don't know these things as I've never made it to 13 weeks before. So to ease my crazy mind more, he did an ultra sound. Jason was right there with me the whole time. Everything looked great and the baby was getting even bigger. A lot of movement, the doctor was asking me, do you feel that? NO, I wish I could! But the baby was fine and with hiccups again. I felt this huge weight off my shoulders and I cried. Why am I stressing soooo much?! I really wish I would stop! The doctor wanted my blood pressure checked again before I left and it was back down to 132/81. Much better. What a day! I have a terrible picture of the little one and it's so bad you can't tell what part your looking at. So I'll wait to post another picture until I get a good one you can actually see the baby. Today, I feel good. Jason is relieved and I have calmed back down knowing my baby is still in there doing well and moving around a lot. What a relief! I can't wait until November 19th to see the baby again!

12 Weeks - Last week of 1st Trimester

7 weeks 1 day in this first picture - taken 09/23/08
9 weeks and 1 day in this second picture taken 10/07/08

11 weeks and 2 days in this last photo taken 10/22/08

Wow, where do I begin and I really hope this works, because I've never done a blog page before. But I thought this would be a neat and different way to keep all our family and friends up to date on our pregnancy. So please pardon my first attempt to post my very first blog with hopefully pictures I can upload. Cross your fingers... ;)

Welcome! We just entered our 12th week of our pregnancy today. I'm feeling pretty good still. I've not had any morning sickness and my attitude has been pretty upbeat. Things are changing within my body. I've had some slight cramping, but the doctor says that is completely normal as my body is growing and changing. Differences I've noticed besides that, breast tenderness is gone, my energy is starting to come back, slight growth around my waist because pants are getting a little snug now, and I'm getting irritated easier. Jason is having a hard time with that last part and forgets I'm not quite myself right now. But overall this has been an easy and great pregnancy. All our doctor appointments have been great with fantastic pictures and videos of the baby! Jason has been right there with me every step of the way! He's been great! He is just as excited about all this as I am. We both have fallen head over heels in love with this little one inside me. We always look forward to the appointments and the good news the doctor has for us. We come out of the office with huge smiles on our faces that you can not wipe off. The feeling is amazing! Our next appointment isn't for another three weeks though. I'll be 15 wks and 2 days along and that's a long time to wait. Then we should be having an amniocentesis soon after that. This will make sure there is nothing wrong with the little one and find out if it's a boy or girl. We can't wait!!! We'll be happy with either one. We've wanted a baby for so long now, we don't care if it's a boy or girl at this point. Just as long as it's healthy!

Let me try and put some pictures of past ultra sounds up here and then if this works out okay I'll keep posting pictures along with my blog as we go along. But this was just a little update as to how we are doing so far. Oh, I forgot to tell you, I'm not showing quite yet, but I'm sure in the next couple of weeks I will be. I'll post those pictures with the ultra sounds pics at that time too.

Love to all!
